VARIOUS CONSTRUCTIONS (CIVIL WORKS) AT CENTRAL ZONE
INVITATION FOR TENDER

April, 2016

1. Tanzania Electric Supply Company Limited has set aside funds for repair, renovation,
rehabilitation and construction works during the financial year 2016 and intends to use part
of the funds to cover eligible payment under the contract, For Various Constructions
(Civil Works) at Central Zone.

2. The Tanzania Electric Supply Company now invite sealed bids from eligible contractors to
submit sealed bids for execution and completion of the cited work under the following
lots:-

 Lot 1: Construction of five Guard Kiosks at Mtera Hydro Plant
 Lot 2: Construction of One Stop Shop at Dodoma Region
 Lot 3: Construction of Chain Link Fence at TANESCO Plots No. 125, 126, 127 & 128
Block D at Mpwapwa Township and Kongwa Plot.

 Lot 4: Construction of Fence at Singida Regional Warehouse
 Lot 5: Construction of Block Wall fence at Zuzu Grid Substation Phase II - Dodoma
 Lot 6: Construction of Chain Link Fence to Italian Camp and Auto Garage (Phase II) -
Mtera

 Lot 7: Construction of Pump House and Concrete tank for raw water at boom area for
Italian Camp - Mtera

 Lot 8: Renovation of Staff Houses at Kilimani (Including Electrical repair works)
3. Tendering will be conducted through the National Competitive Bidding procedure as
specified in the Public Procurement (Goods, Works, Non Consultant Service and Disposal
of Public Assets by Tender) Regulations, 2013 – Government Notice No. 446 and are open
to all Restricted Tenderers as defined in the Regulations.

4. Interested eligible bidders may obtain bid document and further tender information from the
Procurement Specialist Office located at 4th floor, TANESCO Building, P.O Box 49
Dodoma, from 09:00hrs to 16:30hrs on Mondays to Fridays inclusive except on public
holidays.

5. Bids in ONE ORIGINAL plus THREE COPIES properly filled in shall be accompanied by
a tender securing declaration in the format provided in the tendering document. Any tender
not accompanied by an acceptable Tender Securing declaration shall be rejected as non -
responsive.

6. The interested bidder must visit the Sites to acquaint themselves with the surroundings and
obtain all information that may be necessary for preparing the tender and entering into a
contract. The costs of visiting the Site shall be at the bidder’s own expense. The site visit
will be coordinated from Regional/Plant Managers.

7. Bid in a PLAIN SEALED envelope clearly marked Tender No. PA/001/2016/CZN/W/001
FOR VARIOUS CONSTRUCTIONS (CIVIL WORKS) AT CENTRAL ZONE (Do
not open before 14.30 hours on 2nd May, 2016. Addressed to SECRETARY ZONAL
TENDER BOARD – CENTRAL, P.O BOX 49 DODOMA, to reach him not later than 2nd
May, 2016 at 14.30 hours local time.

8. Tenders will be opened in the presence of bidder’s representatives, who choose to attend at
the Zonal Offices immediately after closing time on 2
nd May, 2016 at 14:30hrs.

9. Late bids, portion of bids, electronic bids, bids not received, and not opened and not read
out in public at the Tender opening ceremony shall not be accepted for evaluation
irrespective of the circumstances.

10. A complete set of Tendering Document(s) in English and additional sets may be purchased
by interested Bidders on the submission of written application to address given under
paragraph 4 above and upon payment of non-refundable fee of Tanzania shillings Fifty
thousand shillings (100,000/=) Payment should either be by cash, Banker’s Draft or
Banker’s Cheque, payable to TANESCO Ltd P.O. Box 9024 Dar es Salaam.

11. All bids must be accompanied by a tender securing declaration in the format provided in
the tendering documents.
