Acacia Mining seeks to employ a Maintenance Planner based at Buzwagi Mine in Tanzania. This role reports to the Reliability and Planning Section Leader and the role holder will be accountable to deliver quality maintenance planning & scheduling activities on plant/equipment maintenance to ensure mill availability, throughput & recovery to meet company business targets in accordance with Acacia Buzwagi Health and Safety standards and procedures.

This is a two years fixed term contract role, with the work roster being fourteen (14) days on and seven (7) days off.

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Ensure safe work practices, i.e. attending compulsory safety courses and meetings, use of required PPE, incident/accident reporting and ensuring total adherence to all Safety, Occupational Health and Environmental Policies of Acacia, as well as other policies, procedures and guidelines.
• Preparation of maintenance plans and schedules.
• Identify plant/equipment faults and ensure prevention of further equipment damage/ faults.
• Develop parts list for all standard jobs or Bill of Materials (BoMs).
• Review spare parts inventories to ensure sufficient spare parts are held in stock, and coordinate parts delivery to workshops.
• Ensure equipment availability and integrity.
• Ensure that preventive maintenance and monitoring systems are implemented and tracked.
• Planning and scheduling of work appropriately so as to reduce delays and increase equipment availability.
• Develop cost and time estimates of planned maintenance work.
• Ensure upkeep and accuracy of equipment maintenance history and job records database.
• Ensure upkeep and accuracy of technical information on plant equipment.
• Prepare orders for new spare parts for inventory (ANSI) and raise purchase requisitions.
• Plan for equipment/plant shutdowns.
• Register new plant items in the CMMS as required.
• Ensure that all Work Orders are physically completed for the previous scheduled week and closed in the CMMS.
• Run Predictive Maintenance (PM) Scheduled Work Orders.
• Review and produce outstanding work (backlog) for the maintenance and production/operation Leaders.
• Run forecast schedule for all jobs for the next schedule period.
• Attend weekly scheduling meetings.
• Update draft schedule for the next week.
• Release work orders for the next schedule period.
• Planning of the logical sequence of maintenance activities/tasks during planned shutdowns.
• Ensure proper shift handover.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

• Full Technician Certificate (FTC) in Mechanical / Electrical.

Experience Requirements:

• At least 3 years’ maintenance planning experience.

Skills / Knowledge Requirements:

• Good working knowledge of maintenance planning and scheduling techniques.
• Sound knowledge of CMMS (Pronto) or a similar system.
• Computer Literacy – Microsoft Office suite, excel, word, outlook, project, etc.
• Ability to select proper tools, spares and equipment.
• Ability to change the control system to meet production needs.
• Ability to combine all of the forecast crew labour hours with the estimated labour hours of the planned jobs, generally in order of job priority.
• Knowledge of requirements of crew leaders to schedule and assign daily work.
