Deputy Country Director-Program 1 Position Dsm
Plan in Tanzania's Country Strategic Plan 2016-2020 aims that Marginalised children in Tanzania, especially adolescent girls, are able to reach their full potential in a society that protects and respects their rights. This goal will be achieved through the implementation of 5 Country Programs: 1) Maternal, neonatal and child health and nutrition 2) Equal access to basic education 3) Water, sanitation and hygiene 4) Youth employment and 5) Child protection
Plan has a direct presence in five out of 26 geographical regions in the country, working with children, youth and communities supporting Child Centered Community Development. Through grants and strategic partnership Plan's program reaches another 3 regions.
The purpose of this role is to provide strategic leadership in Program Management within Plan Tanzania through the development and execution of the Country Strategic Plan. The incumbent will be responsible for leading the program team in designing, planning, implementing, and monitoring and evaluating program interventions. S/he is accountable for overall performance of the Program Department at Country Office and Program Units/field operations to ensure that Plan Tanzania delivers quality programs in accordance with child rights principles and strategies.
The post holder directly oversees Program Strategy and technical support, program effectiveness, knowledge management & learning and program delivery (PUs and outside PUs through grants). The incumbent will act as a deputy to the Country Director on the program side helping the Country Director to lead and manage the program function. S/he is a core member of the Country Management Team (GMT) and provides high-level, strategic leadership to the office as a whole, working collaboratively with

Knowledge, Experience and skills
• Demonstrated knowledge as a result of study, training or practical experience in development, sociology, economics or related field. A Master's degree in the mentioned field or its equivalent is a must.
At least 8 years proven progressive experience as a development professional in similar management and senior management roles
Experience of, and a commitment to, and understanding of, participatory approaches to development.
Demonstrated track record in driving change and engendering high performing teams, with the ability to lead, motivate and develop others.
Demonstrated experience in designing and leading strategic planning processes
Knowledge of development issues, trends, challenges and opportunities and implications to community development
Knowledge of key program areas such as health, education, livelihoods, WASH, disaster risk management and protection, with a sound understanding of integrated development issues and critical analysis of child poverty.
Knowledge of programming processes, systems and principles, and the ability to provide leadership and support to staff working at community level.
Knowledge of effective participatory monitoring, evaluation and research systems and processes Skills
Exceptional conceptual and strategic thinking skills.
Comfortable with taking timely decisions in situations where information may be incomplete, based on consultation and sound judgment.
Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to build relationships with

Strong negotiation, influencing and problem solving skills.
Solid experiences in resource mobilization with a variety of donors.

Ability to analyze information, evaluate options and to think and plan strategically

Job Purpose:
To support the development and roll out of Plan's M&E framework and systems to ensure quality implementation of its country strategic plan. To support alignment of all M&E from sponsorship and grants. To develop tools and provide extensive monitoring support to PUs, including capacity building.
Knowledge, Experience and skills
A Master's degree in International Development, or other relevant field preferred.
Minimum 5 years of relevant field based M&E experience, including significant
time in Monitoring and Evaluation for development.
Fluent written and spoken English language skills required
Experience with rights based participatory MER approaches including social audits.
This position requires high computer literacy with a full knowledge of office applications.

Head of Child Protection 1 Position-DSM
Job purpose:
The Head of Child Protection is an innovative and visionary leader responsible for resourcefully planning and directing Plan International Tanzania's programming on Child Protection.
S/he has supervisory responsibility for Project Managers and Programme Coordinators who work on Child Protection and manages a portfolio of Child Protection grants. The Head of Child Protection is responsible for developing sustainable, integrated programming and is accountable to beneficiaries and donors, placing a high value on innovative design of new proposals/ grants, creative partnerships and national level networking and advocacy.
Knowledge, Experience and skills
A Master's degree in Social Science or International Development with practical experience in Child Protection/ a Master's degree in Child Protection with international development experience

Experience in development Child Protection programmes and projects, including translating design into solid implementation with sound results;
Experience in planning and facilitating training/workshops on Child Protection project design and reviews;
